Our Right to Gaze

OUR RIGHT TO GAZE is a touring film anthology, featuring original narrative short films by emerging Black artists.

The variety of short films that will be screened range from a live-action, contemporary take on a fairy tale classic to an animated piece confronting respectability politics. Fresh and passionate, this collection of stories reflects multifaceted viewpoints from an array of emerging artists.

This screening will be preceded by a live pre-show–featuring music from Jasmin Taylor and special appearances from filmmakers Charlene Carruthers and Gabriella Wiltz, hosted by Sisters in Cinema's own Sarah Oberholtzer–and followed by a reception with free food and free beverages sponsored by Marz Brewing.

Doors will open 15 minutes before the program starts. Seating is first come, first served so we recommend you arrive early.
