Rooted and Radical Youth Poetry Festival

Experience "Joy!" at the 2024 Rooted & Radical Youth Poetry Festival
The Rooted & Radical Youth Poetry Festival (R&R) is an annual event that hosts more than 500 youth poets throughout four weeks of showcases, workshops, and special events. Participating poets enrolled in both middle schools and high schools in the Chicago area perform original solo and group poems for over 7,000 audience members throughout the festival!
Registration
Registration is open now through January 15, 2024. Coaches and poets should register here. The festival is also looking for volunteers.

- Kickoff Event – for participating poets and coaches only: February 10
- Preliminary Bouts: February 17 – March 3
- Semi Finals: March 16
- Finals Showcase: March 22
